Anyone have a good sweet commercial stout. I don't care for the roasted, coffee tastes. Just looking for a mild sweet stout. I'd like to make one in the future.

Had a Mother's Milk last time I was back in Syracuse. Pretty decent, but it was summertime and its not really a hot and humid kinda beer. I'm a big fan of Left Hand's version, but it may be a little coffee-like for the OP

Me too! I def love Left Hand Brewing's milk stout. Smooth sort of sweetness on a iced coffee flavor with a little of that roasty stout flavor on the back. Overall,a smooth easy drinking stout. Very pleasant. & I generally don't like stouts. So that's say quite a bit! :mug:

The recipe from BCS is pretty good too, doesnt seem to carry as much coffee as Left Hand. Of course, we used 1.5lbs of Lacto on 8lbs of malt so your mileage may vary.
