yes i've searched, yes i've asked a similar question before, but this time i am looking for very specific answers.

i just made my first stout.

i force carbed it at room temp using a table i found on here. i carbed it with co2.

i have a stout faucet. i have a tank with nitrogen co2 mix in it. i plan to push the beer with this.

should i have carbed with the mix too?
does the nitrogen dissolve in the beer like the co2?

how exactly does it all work?

You did fine carbing it with CO2 first. I think you "can" carb with the mix, just not very well or efficiently. Nitrogen does not dissolve into the beer. It's used to push the beer through the lines and the restriction plate in the stout faucet.

oh, i get it. higher pressure co2 would over carb the beer, but low pressure co2 wont get the beer through the plate.

Yeah, um, I thought this thread was going to be about something else entirely.

When serving from a stout faucet do you use straight nitro or co2/nitro mix assuming that you carb with co2 first?
