I've read a couple of different theories on the subject. One states that it's best to store the beer at room temp (steady state temp) and the other states it's "OK" to store HM in a fridge for long periods of time.

What do you fellas prefer?

I carb condition at room temp (~65*F), age and store at basement temp (~57*F), and drink either at basement temp or slightly chilled.

I'm kindof going by the seat of my pants here, but...

I think storing at cellar temp allows beers to continue changing and developing their flavors, whereas storing at refridgerator temp tends to make the live yeast go dormant and greatly retard any change in the flavor.

So I guess it's more a question of what you want. For higher ABV, bigger styles, you probably want that continuing development in the bottle.
