Remember when Lagunitas opened up a brewery in Chicago that's bigger than all Chicago breweries combined and on their own dime? The fact that a 50 year old guy that smokes pot all day has enough business sense to do this and Stone doesn't is mind boggling.

I'm not 50 yet, but smoking pot all day at a brewery sounds really enjoyable.

Hasn't been mentioned here yet, but Stone is going to spend $25 million on the project themselves. So seems pretty clear this is a marketing/involvement strategy (and sure, free relatively small loan) so why did they set the rewards so, so terribly?

What a ******* trainwreck. This whole thing is an embarrassment.

I only have time to disagree with those. And I could not disagree with you about La C more. Wanted a Christmas beer -- poured out that all spiced to hell garbage.

It tasted like the roasted fennel I routinely remove from grilled vegetable plates when included, with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Weird combo of earthy vegetal and sweetness from the spices. One of the worst autumn beers I've had.

So you disagree with 2 out of 19?
and I'm gonna fight with you about La Citrueille. That's the best Holliday beer evar!! Literally tasted like the in-laws house smells during the holidays!! Mmm glazed ham!! Not like the rest of the Pumpkin beers trying to taste like Pumpkin Pie and Punkin.... That is one of the worst mass-distributed "craft" beers!!
Gin and despair?

This is the most touched balls I've seen in one place outside of a gangbang.

This sentence, I'm having trouble interpreting.

Are you saying you've seen a lot of balls touched in areas adjacent to an active gangbangs but, in this particular case, more balls are being touched in the current area adjacent to the current gangbang than in any of the prior areas adjacent to prior gangbangs?

Wasn't a fan either. But you hated Wootstout?!? I think it's great, and certainly not bad. I actually like it a lot more than most of their other collabs I have had.

I thought Wootstout was a disgusting mess, one of the worst beers I've had in the past two years that lots of people actually enjoy. But I think I do get why people like it, if that makes any sense. In the same way that I despise Pumking but understand why it's got a following.
Same here. I was terribly disappointed in the coconut IPA as well. Outside of Espresso RIS and the couple of Enjoy By's that I've had I can do without Stone. The Session IPA is $12 a six pack around here. Not what I'd consider a "session" beer. I think Levitation is nice, but it's always 6+ months old when I see it on the shelves.

Over years of drinking Stone beers, I've come to the conclusion that most of their 'weird' beers are just not my thing. Anything with spices, fruits, smoke, chiles, whatever - I usually don't like them. However, most of their 'standard' type offerings and imperial variants are really good. Oaked AB is still something that stands out as a unique and interesting beer too.

I did not enjoy wootstout either.

A huge exception to this rule, for me, is the Smoked Porter variants which are always excellent. The Chipotle version is incredibly my ****.

"CEO of Stone, Greg Koch, known for giving impassioned speeches via megaphone while crowdsurfing atop throngs of loyal fans, has never approached the business side of the brewery with a traditional mindset."

Yes he has. He got the starter money from his dad.

When they came to the Twin Cities market, they had an official release party where he gave one of those speeches. ******' barfed.

Did it here Australia/NZ too (during a series of 3 tap takeovers) - I made sure to not be around but I heard it they were pretty awkward. We are a little more reserved down here.

Also, you've got a crowd of beer lovers circle jerking over your beer at a one off event. Preaching to the choir much?

Until you get drunk (and I don't say that in a bad way, if that makes any sense)

Whenever a beer celebrity forgets they are just a beer celebrity, well...

Minnesota is pretty reserved by US standards. It was awkward for sure.
