Anyone have success with a stir starters stir plate and a 5000ml flask? I'm looking to do 3 liters of starter.

Yes,

I have done up to a 4.5 L starter in my 5L flask on my stirplate with no issues. I use a 1" stirbar and my stirplate is just like the simple one in the DIY forum.

It does not spin as much as my 2L flask, but it keeps the yeast in suspension without a problem.

Yeah Moto, I bought a 5000 a few months back, because my 2000 kept overflowing. I'd wake up in the morning and there's be wort all over the place. My 5000 is great. I'm also using a stirstarter stir plate. It's a little bigger, more rectangular, so it fits perfectly.

Good to hear. I just bought one and filled up my 2000ml flask. It pulled a vortex but just barely at full power. So I was curious
