Stir bar recommendations

I am making my own stir plate and need to get a stir bar. Any suggestions? Anybody able to make their own that is able to be sterilized easy and works well?

Hard to beat a teflon covered bar for $5. Easy to sanitize and you won't have to worry about infections from these. Some have that middle ring that the bar spins around, but it's not quiet. You can put corny keg post seals on there, get one w/o the bump, or just live with it.

Thanks for your reply. Also wondering about what size to get. What are determining factors to decide?

I have .9" without the center hub and they work great.
All of mine with the hub do not work they chatter then fly off to the side.
