I did a watermelon beer with the lorann oils watermelon extract. Just 1 dram in 5 gallons.
First after the keg was kicked I just hooked up the line to the replacement centennial blonde. The line was cleaned before the watermelon beer so I thought it would be fine.
Then I had a watermelon/blonde brew. Though not as strong the watermelon was there.
Next I ran oxiclean through the line and let it soak for a few days. Still there. Then disassembled my tap and soaked it.
Still there but not as strong.
I figured out if I have a glass of about 4 ounces I taste it then fill the glass and it's not there. Then if I wait 1/2 hour or so the flavor is back.
Should I just buy a new beer line and dedicate this one to watermelon beer?
Not sure what to do here. Although it's a pleasant watermelon taste I've had enough and want regular brew.
