Steeping Temp got to 174 am I hosed

I usually steep in my 10gal pot, but read about only doing 3L per lb of speciality. So I bought a small 8L pot and was trying to do it stove top. Stupid electric range and busy doing other things my water temp got to 174 for a short period (2-4min). Am I hosed now.

No. It's fine. Let it come back down closer to 150-160. It will be alright.

No, that is not a big enough increase or long enough to cause any significant problem. Continue as normal.

my first batch i was told to leave the grains in until it starts the boil... dont do that hah, you will be fine
