I am planning on using a steam slayer instead of venting in my basement. I’m still in the process of building my brewery, so it will still be some time before I purchase the steam slayer.
Questions at hand......How do you connect your slayer for the water source, garden hose or 3/8” adaptor?

if you use the 3/8” adaptor, how do you turn the water off? Can you use a ice maker valve instead?

since I am building my brew room from an empty slate, I have lots of options. I have just ran my water lines, and for the time being I left enough line so that I can add/ change anything.

The 3/8" adapter is meant to go inline between a supply shutoff valve and flex line. With full flexibility, just plumb in a garden hose spigot and use the garden hose adapter.

@ Bobby_M, just to make sure I am reading right. I should go from my water line, tie in a T, where one line goes to my facuate, and attach a hose spigot to the other line from the T goes to my supply line to the sink. That way i can turn on/off the supply to my steam slayer?.

Questions that come to mind on this is:.. will the weight cause the pex line to crack? to combat this should i route the one above the counter top and have the spigot attach to my temp wall? Here is a pic of my temp walls with my water lines ran. IMG_1262.jpg I can do some changes with out issues. As of right now, I do have extra piping hanging out of the wall so i can use water. I am hoping to go purchase my cabinets, sink, and counter top by the 1st of Feb.

Thoughts on this is to have a T right above my counter top and add in the hose spigot to that, that way it is attached to the 2x4.That way I have a way to turn the water on and off to the slayer.

My wife brought up doing a 4x8 back splash, that way when I do use my sink, water will not go behind the cabinets and rot the wood. So With the thought of adding a spigot, i would try to make it a finish look, where i would have the back splash. How high would you think I would need to go above the counter top (pre made one, think the back side would be about 2 inches above counter) if I add it above counters.
