Quick Question: Is it OK to pour the cooled starter wort into the 2 quart jar containing the washed yeast (after I decant the clear liquid) and let the starter grow in there? It was sterilized when I put the yeast in originally.

Should be fine as long as there is plenty of head room for the yeast. You probably want at least 3 inches or more of room at the top of the jar. Use foil to cover the top and give the jar a shake and swirl whenever you can.
