hey guys,

I was planning on doing a brew on sunday but circumstances did not allow. I had a starter prepared and now have to save it for a few more days.

any suggestions on what to do to keep it going until this w/e?

I was thinking crash it, then bring back up to temp, dump excess beer and pitch the whole thick slurry.

any one have a better idea?

Stick it in the fridge, take it out the morning you are going to brew, decant, then let it warm up to room temp, then pitch when your wort is down to pitching temps.

Either in or out of the fridge is fine for a few days. They both have their advantages. In the fridge the viability will be a little higher. Out of the fridge will allow the yeast to prepare for dormancy and generate a glycogen reserve which will help them get going when pitched into a fresh wort.
