starter question

last night I pitched my activator packet.. it was inflated like normal but I dumped the plastic bag in by mistake. We left it in there over night, and I just removed it like five minutes ago.

The part of wyeast packet didn't pop... it was completely inflated with this black liquid inside. The other side did pip, and there was remnants of yeast. What was that black stuff? I just pulled it and threw it away. My starter appears to be fermenting (bubbles)

one side is yeast, the other is yeast food and nutrients
if you have bubbles everything will work, just not as well as if it had blended
have a beer and relax
