I'm going to be doing my 5th batch soon and was wondering if instead of DME I could use LME for the starter? It's going to be an extract brew, so I was wondering if I could use some of the LME that I'll be using in the actual beer making.

If I can use LME, how much should I use? If it's frowned upon, I'll try and make it out to my LHB shop. I'll be using White Labs Hefeweizen Ale as my yeast and read that it only had to ferment in the starter for 4 - 6 hours.
