I have some old grains (about 4 years) just taking up space they were vacuum packed and still have crunch. They are a mix of specialty grains. Can I use this mess to make a batch of starter wort.

1 lb Crystal 75
.5 lb biscuit
2lb carapils
1.5 lb munich
1 lb caramunich
1 lb black patent
.75 lb chocolate
and a couple ounces of roasted barley for good measure.

I put it in beersmith and it comes out 1.035 for a 5 gallon batch and dark dark dark. I'm not planning on drinking it, just decanting it from the starter (although I will probably try it to see how bad it tastes)

I wouldn't do it. A lot of those are high in unfermentable sugars.

Save them and just add them into batches here and there.
