FML- getting ready to mix up a bucket of Starsan and in squeezing to get to 1/2 oz shot the lid off. This created a fountain of sanitizer that went across the kitchen and into the dinning room onto my 7-month old daughter (and everything in between). So now her and I have Starsan on us. Wife hears me yelling and daughter laughing. We both spend the next 30 minutes in the shower. Both of us feel fine now with no rash or discomfort. That said I keep expecting her to hiccup foam. So much for bottling today.

That sounds exciting. I'm sure there will be no ill harm as long as it wasn't digested.

Starsan should have the poison control guy I talked to on their podcast "even if she drank a little she'll be fine, you have to really drink a lot to do any kind of damage".

Wow WTF are you people telling this guy?? I have read reports about starsan undiluted eating through clothes, rugs, countertops. Read the bottle "corrosive causes eye damage or skin burns"

Having witnessed what my 16-month-old daughter just did to her diaper, I may need to pour starsan on my brain.

Keep an eye on her and make sure nothing develops rash-wise or that she doesn't seem too hot and bothered where she got it on her. You're probably groovy.

We're not "telling him" anything......Sounds like he took care of her immediately by getting her in the shower and it rinsed off right away. So more than likely any risk has passed. Not to mention the fact that he CALLED POISON CONTROL IMMEDIATELY.....

All we're doing now is making jokes about it.

Revvy you are one of the last on this site I expected to take this attitude. There is no way poison control would have said "even if she drank a little she'll be fine, you have to really drink a lot to do any kind of damage". The op was talking about undiluted starsan. There is a huge difference of what comes out of the bottle and how it is when properly diluted.

Oh ya and I am tapping your vienna lager tomorrow it better be good lol.

Poison control was definitely not concerned about it. I read the ingredients and the warning three times. So long as the baby was cleaned, happy, and rash free they felt good.

Additionally I would note it was not that I came here asking for advice for how to address the situation. It was resolved at that point. I think it's important we an laugh at ourselves (even the really bad stuff).
