actually looking like I'll be travelling out there in the next month or two. Any week/weekend I should shoot for?

I think I asked before, but is STL Uber friendly? will I be able to get around from Downtown to SideProject, etc?
try to make it July 15th-16th. That'd be crazy to crush beers in St Louis

Does anybody know what the Shared Coffee Vibes limits were and if they're still on sale? Trying to figure out if I can reasonably pursue them or I should just give up. Thanks.

My daughter just tried to ship me a box from the FedEx location off Manchester and McKnight in St. Louis. They wanted to inspect the box because they said they've had trouble with people shipping liquor. The FedEx worker was a total ass!

Can you recommend another FedEx location to ship from? Anyone ship from downtown St. Louis?

Thanks

I am planning a trip as well...note that SP Cellar is closed June 2-6.

I saw that. Really glad I'll be there 6/16. The hours of tasting room at the brewery don't work for me.

Just wanted to add some thoughts after hitting up a few new spots this weekend.

Started off (and hit up again in the trip) Narrow Gauge Brewing which is contained within the sports bar / restaurant Cugino's.

I had tried a few beers that Jaminjohnson had shared before and tried a few from Jeff Hardesty at New Glarus last year pre Great Taste of the Midwest. Fantastic hop forward hazy beers, a really impressive pilsner, good food, but the service left something to be desired as it took forever to get beers / food with a small group (5 people). The vibe of the place is a little weird as it's wearing a few hats, but definitely a spot I will be checking out on future trips. Couldn't believe the amount of folks walking away with 6+ crowlers at a time.

Next stop was The Side Project Cellar which wasn't even around when I was last back in St. Louis in 2013.

Ended up sharing bottles of Apple Brandy Derivation, Side Project / Casey Jammy and Live Oak / Jester King Foudreweizen which were all very good in different ways. Could certainly see this being a pricey spot to hang out if I was a local, but not sure I can come down again without making a stop here in the future. Loved that they had on a cask of Civil Life English Pale Ale as well even if it wasn't the freshest cask in the world.

ok so I'll be in St. Louis July 15-16th (probably like 2pm on Saturday) What can I not miss in this short amount of time? Thanks for any help, just trying to not miss an awesome event or great food or something..

Just drink some Urban Chestnut cans and eat some toasted ravioli.
can't really turn that idea down.

Gonna be an interesting trip: KC, St Louis, Little Rock, Nashville, Chattanooga and then a drive from Chattanooga all the way home. Hopefully I can figure out the best ride home for some good breweries.

But spare yourself the cruel and unusual punishment that is St Louis style pizza. That is, unless your idea of pizza is the world's most brittle and stale cracker, topped with a blood red sugar they claim is pizza sauce, and cheese that is closer to the plastic shrink wrap on a Kraft singles slice than any actual cheese. This isn't to say all pizza in St Louis is bad, just St Louis style pizza, like what you'd find at Imo's.

Ignore this post and get an IMO's pizza after you've drank all day.

Man, I am still so jacked from my Wisconsin trip, damn I love the Midwest. As a result,
St. Louis trip is in the works. No dates set. But it's gonna happen. Just wanted to post here so I can get the updates looking forward.

Just gotta few details to work out first. Hopefully a kick ass concert, beer release, disc golf, tons of grub, maybe a Brewer/Cardinal game and extended 4 day weekend kind of thing ideally speaking.

The Dr. brought up some beers for me when we met up last week in Milwaukee. I really loved this one:

She also scored this one that I liked too:

Keep all the news coming, I'll be reading and planning.

Holler

Anyone else coming into town for Abraxas? I got a ticket for Saturday the 4th at 4 PM and would love to share some bottles at side project cellar before.

Wish I could make it in town, but I am having someone pick mine up.

ok... probably been asked (possibly by me) but where is the best area to stay for bars and restaurants.

Only agenda is Side Project and food

Anywhere along I64 from 170 to Grand Ave. The area south of Forest Park is probably the most centrally located spot.

Os

Yeah I've hot-wired with success in the Forest Park area and gotten very nice hotels.

SRY not SRY for this post. A good friend is being deployed in the soon to be near future. He likes Side Project a little too much. Anyone in the area available for a #gapiufmb? Can swapsies for a similar hookup from out here. Trading for bottles has been a hazardous sitch. Slide into my PMz.
