I bought a 5 gallon all grain batch from northern brewer and I want to split
it into two batches. I don't have a big enough kettle to do it all at once (8 gallon ).Could you guys tell me how much water to put in the mash ? I don't recirculate or sparge. Thanks

Water needed = Your batch size + how much water you'll boil off + .08 * Pounds of grain.

For example

Water needed = 2.5 G batch + 1 G boil off + .08 * 5 pounds grain = 3.9 Gallons of water
