Wanting to bring in some sample size bottles for a halloween party we are having at work. Problem is, the pumpkin beer i want to bring in is 10.1% and I only have 5 gallons of it. I dont want to give it out all out by using 12oz bottles.

Are there any places where we can get small bottles? Preferably around the 8oz range?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks:mug:

Wow, that will be a lot of bottling!

I don't really see smaller bottles made for homebrewing. Corona has Coronita bottles which are 7oz, but they are clear and screenprinted. I've seen some other pony beer bottles too.

KMart has Jones Root Beer 12pack 8oz bottles for $3.79 in store, but they are clear and probably twistoffs.

Wouldnt be too bad. I'm really only going to bottle about 15 for my group here, but i just don't want to give away all my expensive beer :drunk:

I wonder if StarSan would remove the printing on the Coronitas bottles?? This wouldnt be for any sort of long-term storage, so something like that might actually work.

There's a few threads on removing screenprinted labels. Double-strength starsan seems to work...some other remedies too.

Yea, i've done it with Stone bottles and stuff. It seems to work better on certain brands, but I've never tried with Corona.

Why not just take cups? Have a bartender that would pour 5-6oz samples.

Because I'm allowed to bring them in for people, but not allowed to serve the beer. So its just some bottles for them to bring home to sample.

I got a couple 12 packs of 7 oz bottles from Rogue at their garage sale a few months ago. As a bonus, they came full of delicious RIS.

Looks ike that comes out to a tad over 6oz. That might be perfect, plus the shape would still let me put a label on:ban: Might have to see if LHBS has some of these. Thanks!

I love them. They can be corked or capped, they can handle high pressure & they're perfect for small batches, or batches where you might not want to drink 12oz at a time. Plus they look super cool.

If you went with the corona bottles I have heard nail polish remover works really well.
Stone wall makes beers (250ml) and you can buy them individually they are clear but do no have painted label its just a clear sticker.

Ended up finding these at my LHBS and picked up a case. Very quality bottles. Thanks:rockin:
