Boy it sure seems like it takes a while to get 3 gallons of sparge water thru the grain bed with the top plate on it. Having holes just at the bottom I am sure does not help. Oh well, almost time for a beer anyway. LOL

No, 9 pounds of Pilsner, 1 pound vienna and a quarter pound of biscuit. My crush is set to about the thickness of a credit card. The malt pipe only has holes on the bottom not on the sides like the upgrade does. It is going thru, just a bit slow. Has been going for about 20 to 25 mins and is almost done.You brewing something wheat?
Mine is the old style that only drains at the bottom. I use the rolled plate on bottom and the silicone gasket one on top so I can position it just off the grain bed. Getting all the sparge water into the bed is not that slow but waiting for it to drip out can be a while. I usually tip it so it concentrates near an edge and flows faster near the end. It's always still dripping a bit when I move the pipe out to the sink and start boil.
