I am doing a partial mash.

Mashing in a bag in a cooler (BIAB). So far so good.

I will then transfer to a brew pot for the boil.

Should I sparge the bag over the brew ot before or after transferring the wort from the mash tun???

thanks

Just some clarification...you are mashing in a cooler, but containing the grain in a bag, as in you have no manifold or SS braid in the cooler? If so what size cooler is it?

cooler is 7.5 gallons.

Using the bag since I do not have manifold or braid (today is my birthday and my wife was asking about these, hope I will have them for next time).

You can sparge in the cooler too. Transfer the mash water to the pot however you plan to do that, then add more hot(~180*) water to the grains in the cooler. Stir a lot, then transfer the sparge water into your pot.
