So you knocked the cork into the bottle. Hello! I've done it before.
Are wine bottles expensive enough to get you in the problem solving mood?

...im a tad ocd...if I have to toss it in trash abd be 1 short a case ....it will bug the **** out of me...same if i buy a wine and just replace it with a diff bottel.

There is also a nice cork retriever, it has 3 metal wires with a little hook on the ends and a red handle, you just put it in the bottle, flip it over until the cork or bung are engaged and pull it right out. So what happens to an OCD guy if he breaks a bottle, do you have to break all the rest of them so it evens out to Maybe get some used bottles so you always have an odd number of bottles setting around. WVMJ

I've removed stoppers from a carboy using that method, give it a try.
