I soaked by bottles in the Costco version of simple green to try and loosen up the labels (worked very well), but now the glass feels very odd. Not slimy or anything, but when running a finger down them it kinda sticks and skips its way down the glass. The best way I can describe it is how when you put a new screen protector on your phone and your finger doesn't slide on it very well.

The ingredients for the cleaner were: water, nonionic surfactant, soil-suspending and grease-cutting agents.

Anyone else run into this with certain cleaners & what'd you do to get them back to normal?

I've always soaked bottles in a pbw solution. Never used simple green for brewing. I use that to get brake dust off of wheels.

I was thinking about running them through the dishwasher with vinegar instead of soap, anyone know if this would work?

Does the vinegar taint the bottles or can it be rinsed out with hot water?

soak them in some hot water with chlorine free oxygen cleaner such as Oxy clean free or sun oxygen cleaner. It will get rid of the funk and remove labels very well.
