Sure. Lots of guys will lager, or dry hop, or just simply age beer in a corney. It's no different than a stainless secondary fermenter.
 
You need to purge the head-space and put in enough co2 to seat the seal.

Also, if you have the means to put your fermenter in a fridge or temp controlled freezer, do it and and let chill overnight or better yet a few days. This will help clear your beer and when you rack to a keg the beer is already cold so you can start force carbing immediately.
