Im planning to make an slightly smoked and malty ale with some Swedish Gotlands Rökmalt (smoked malt). I've heard that the Gotlands rökmalt is pretty strong stuff. So here is the planned recipe:

15l (3,3 gallons) batch, 12l (2,65 gallons)boil volume
BIAB/Minimash

1,8kg (3,97lb) Muntons Medium LME
500g (1,1lb) Marris Otter Pale Malt
250g (0,55lb) Cara 60l
250g (0,55lb) Smoked malt/Gotlands Rökmalt
100g (3,5oz) Biscuit malt
100g (3,5oz) Roasted Barley

60min 15g (0,53oz) Northern Brewer
10min 10g (0,35oz) Fuggles
0min 10g (0,35oz) Fuggles

Wyeast British ale yeast (1098)

Single infusinon mash at 68c/60min

I absolutely love any beer with something smokey going on.

I've never tried the weast british ale yeast, but the white labs burton ale yeast worked great with a porter I made with some peated malt.

Brewed. I made a few changes. I added 50g of smoked malt and also 250g of Munich malt and 85g of chocolate malt and cutted the biscuit to 50g. Hops were 20g of N.B and 12g+12g of Fuggles.
That Swedish smoked malt has a nice aroma, it's smoked with alder tree and it smells like campfire. I tested the wort and it gives pretty strong flavor, which reminds like an aftertaste of single malt scottish whiskey, like Laphroaig. I guess it would be awesome combo with the german rauchmalt.
