would anyone here happen to know what the recipe for Smirnoff's ice is ? I hope I'm not breaking any rules posting on this subject.I just love but It's getting a little expensive around my parts of the woods around $8.19 a six pack .Anyway any feedback would be appraited.

I don't think you can make that as it's not really beer. I think they add a very tiny amount of alcohol from malt so they can call it a 'malt beverage' but ultimately it's all artificial stuff.

How old are you? Is it expensive, or are you only 15?

A couple recipes for you from the Recipe Database, the link is at the top of the page in the red header bar.

Please note that Smirnoff Ice is sweet because they kill the yeast, then force carbonate it before bottling it. You can't do that with introductory brewing equipment, you would need to be kegging in order to maintain the same sweet taste through force carbonation.

Otherwise, you have two options - first, any sugar you adds keeps getting fermented, or second, you try to back-sweeten it with Lactose, and risk sh!tting your pants if you're not very tolerant of it. (Bombs away?)

I reccommend that you either keep paying the price for it, or find a cheaper alternative. I don't know what you have available in Kentucky, but around here there are "Energy malt beverages" such as Sparks... cheap, high alcohol, fruity taste. Try your local Sam's Club, they often sell Smirnoff Ice or Mikes Hard Lemonade by the 24-pk case, at a cheaper price.

By the way, most people will give kinder, gentler responses if you take a moment to type your post more carefully. Spelling and grammar can make the world of difference in how you appear to others, and providing more information up-front (for example, tell us your experience level, prior batches, what equipment you have, for starters) can help us to give you the "right" answer the first time. Just $0.02 for you.

My brewing partner bought a kit from Austin Homebrew Supply and made it for his wife. It wasn't really a Smirnoff ice flavour but more like a Mountain Dew with 5% alcohol. I know Austin Homebrew supply doesn't carry it any longer but there are other vendors that do.

Doesn't look cheap to me but still cheaper than what you're projecting costs to be.

That's funny. That stuff (vinoka) is made down the street. In fact the guy gave me a pepsi keg he had laying around when his computer system crashed and I took a look at it.

My wife is 15 but I'm 35 so it's cool. :cross:

Drinks like this are referred to as malt beverages, malternative beverages and alcopop.

My wife and her friends like them. Anyone here try to clone Smirnoff Ice yet?

hmmm, i'll bite...carbon filtered malt beverage? flavored with your choice?
I attached pic of can . It is good light body not horable sweet . Yes it is a carbonated malt beverage containing alcohol but it is not a wine cooler.
