Hello all!
I will return home in a few weeks and am looking to brew my first beer of the summer! I have never brewed a SMaSH, but it seems as though a SMaSH IPA could be rather delicious . . . In regards to flavor profile, I'm looking for that piney/resinous flavor, as well as a 6.5-7% ABV and respectable IBU profile. I've brewed with both Simcoe and Chinook in larger IPAs, but have not utilized just one or the other. As I plan on various hop additions during the boil, whirlpool, and a dry hop, I was curious as to whether anyone has had experience with using either hop exclusively and, if so, would you recommend either Chinook or Simcoe to be the lone star of this show?
I've been looking at Pale Malt as the base grain.
