One style I have yet to tackle is pilsner. To do some research, I picked up a few beers from Trader Joes while I was there. I'm sitting down with a Pilsner Urquell (perhaps one of the most classic examples of the style) and a beer from Sixpoint called The Crisp.

This beer is incredible.

You can taste the pilsner backbone, but it's incredibly clean and surprising hoppy. It's certainly hopped considerably for the style, and the can says dryhopped as well, but it tastes like a pilsner pale ale. It's considerably drier than the Urquell, without the sweetness I usually associate with pilsners.

This is an incredible beer that I need to have on tap at my house. Does anyone have insight??

Dear Mr Homebrewer -

This is Sixpoint Brewery. Thank you for taking an active interest in the CRISP. Our brewers have worked very hard on this beer and it feels awesome to see the appreciation from the customers. Rock on!

If you'd like, you can email us at INFO at SIXPOINT dot com and we can resume this conversation over there. Perhaps once you're done with the homebrew we can trade some bottles and see how it turned out.

Looking forward!

cheers,

Sixpoint Brewery

Okay, that's cool. Email on its way.

Resin is an awesome beer as well. This pils is just nailed exactly what I was looking for in the style.

Sort of an old thread, but how did this turn out? I'd love to brew something close to the crisp.
