I have a brown ale, caribou slobber, sitting in the secondary for the past two days after two weeks in primary my OG was 1.055 and it has been sitting at 1.021 for the past 7days. I was thinking I might siphon some off, like two 22oz. bottles and prime and cap them for a new year celebration. Is it worth it? This is my first batch. Will the beer even carbonate in one week? Thanks

I don't know anything about caribou slobber, but in general, even if it did carb (which it likely would at the correct temp - 70*f +), it would be a bit green. If you really want it, go for it. It will likely carb and it will definitely be beer. As most people will tell you, it gets better with age. Just finishing the last of my first batch and the last are definitely the best. Personally, I would hold off, but at the same time I can remember how excited I was for my first batch...

I understand you want to share your first brew, but I would leave it alone.

Bottle it properly, and wait the full time.

Invite them to come over for the Super Bowl, and rock their socks off.

Don't spoil it by serving green beer.

Mho

I'd say go for it. It won't be the best beer in the world but it will be quite drinkable. Make sure to keep the bottles where it is warm (low to mid 70's) or they won't carb up in time.
