I hosted a BBS as a teen. Even paid for the phone line for it out of my earnings selling computers at best buy. That's what a nerd I was.

i had my BBS too, at 13....i remember how fun it was to setup Fido(?) Frontdoor, and start my own little message group....(with the secret pirate part)

wish i could find a screen capture of dialing up and having to press esc how everymany times or what it was.....

edit: i wasn't that nerdy, i had stupid hair down to my ass, smoking pot, and thinking it was cool to look destitute.....thank god i found homebrew!

edit #2: of course around here thinking looking destitute made me look cool, probably makes look like a kid.....

I think the Jarts were introduced in the 50's and had them around in the early 60's and the Click Clack (Not sure if that's the name or just the noise they made) were some time in the early 70's

My grandma had 4 dump truck loads of sand dumped in her yard. At the time, I figured it was because she loved me and my cousins and was giving us the BEST place to play with our Tonka's, Matchbox cars, and toy soldiers.

It was probably because she just didn't want to mow though.

the base was one of the first "space" things I got and started my collecting more and more.(I once checked the "value" of my stuff and it's rather a lot more than €1000,-), my most beloved one was the "blacktron base"
