Shipping Yeast - HELP

I'm from Dominican Republic (in the Caribbean). I want to start brewing. I already know what equipment to buy and some people recommended me to start with an Extract Kit, but I'm concern about the Yeast. I read Dry Yeast for long deliveries.

And since all this equipment and ingredients will be delivered to me (in Dominican Republic), this delivery could take about 1-2 weeks and maybe more.

Can the Yeast be messed up by then???
