I have searched this website, a couple others, dropped lines to a few homebrew shops and even emailed the brewery with no success - although this has all been during the last week of "holiday" scheduling - we will see what comes forth next week...

http://www.breakside.com/breakside-beer/seasonal/salted-caramel-stout/

They give a few ingredients and I would imagine this seasonal is a derivative of their standard stout, maybe I should be searching for that clone and ask for caramel and salt suggestions.

My guess is the special caramel has some fancy bourbon added for bite.

Looking for a 5 gallon full grain recipe!

No replies in 2 days, so giving a bump. Ironically enough, they are having their second annual release party for this exact beer on wednesday. Will head to the release party if plans fall in line - or will head to the brewery on saturday and pick up some bottles.

I have had no response from the brewery directly. Local homebrew shops have no leads for a recipe. And after several days of googling "salted caramel stout recipe" - almost nobody labels their stouts with said title...

There are malts that have chocolate notes, even caramel malts... But it is my guess they are using a real bourbon backed caramel batch thrown in sometime with fermentation or directly after.

Will keep you posted later in the week..
