Sediment getting in siphon

I went to bottle one of my Holiday Ales and things were flowing well out of the siphon for a while then the pieces of orange peel kept getting stuck in the siphon cap. I was getting a lot of sediment also. I think for the next one I will try to get most of the floaties out of the fermenter before I siphon into my bottling bucket.

Any other suggestions?

Put a really fine mesh hop sock at the end of your siphon tube.
