Hello everyone,

I have just transferred my California common brew from primary into secondary. It fermented for 1 week in the primary at 18 degrees Celsius. Now, I have a pretty cool bathroom without heat - I estimate around 15 degrees c. Should I put the secondary in the coldest location possible to mimic as best I can a lagering process? I plan to keep it in the secondary for about 3 weeks as I am leaving the country for Christmas

Thanks!

My experience with a California Common (and I've only done a couple, so it's limited) is that you may have a problem in that you should have fermented at 15 degrees or cooler, and you should lager it around 7. So, I guess I'd suggest you put it in the coldest place you can above 0.

Well that seems really low for primary temp! Anyone else?

Anyone? I gotta leave the country tomorrow and want to make sure the temps are right before I leave! Thanks!

Wyeast California lager which ferments between 14 and 20 Celsius. I was thinking that maybe the secondary stage could be dropped as low as possible and what the effects of that would be on outcome?
