THIS is what I need. Local info. Exit at 145th then? Stay on Roosevelt until what point?

Bottle shop recommendations downtown? Or along the Roosevelt stretch from Northgate in?

Pear Deli is in pike place market and has a great bottle selection. Just a few blocks from Cloudburst brewing if you are in the mood for a good hoppy beer.

Roosevelt will take you over the University Bridge and you can continue on Eastlake Ave. to get downtown-ish. Mammoth is on Eastlake, they have a pretty good selection of bottles.

You both need to fire your travel agents for having to stay in Everett. Place is a **** hole. Lived there 20 years

Haha, my cousin lives in Everett. She says the same thing. Last week her car got stolen. This week someone got shot down the block. Sounds like a nice place but the room is free so take what you can get I guess.

Sooooooo....... I shouldn't book me, my wife and my 2 kids in at Marco Polo?
It's not that bad. Note that I have no children and am pretty clueless on what "kid friendly" means but its pretty much your standard roadside motel.

You almost assuredly won't get murdered there. That's reason enough for me to stay somewhere.

I lived literally across the street from the Marco Polo for 12 years. Aurora is sketchy. The Marco Polo is sketchy (though way less than it was), but you go ONE block to the east and it's one of the best neighborhoods in Seattle. You'd also be in walking distance from Fremont, Bottleworks, and Brouwer's, not to mention Tutta Bella, Via Tribunali, Paseo's, The Whale Wins, and Bizzarro for food. If you want to go just a little further, you can get to Uber, The Burgundian, all the breweries in Ballard, Bongos, Dicks, Wine World, Shalamar, The UW campus, and Golden Gardens, and you're like five minutes from everything that's in downtown via Aurora. It's not a bad location.

If you are staying for anymore than a couple days I tell everyone to check out the VRBO's. Virtually the same price and sometimes cheaper than staying in a hotel downtown.

Seattle peeps I need some help! I will be out there next week and need to know the best beer bars, bottle shops and breweries that I must see. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Awesome stuff thank you sir!

Flying in Saturday evening, staying in Belltown (1st & Vine)... any place near there to pick up some decent bottles/cans so I can have a stash of stuff at where we're staying to consume after dealing w/ my wife's family basically every damn day for a week? :D

In addition to the aforementioned Pear and Vine Street Market, Delaurenti at the market (1st and Pike) has good stuff, you'll likely find Holy Mountain white label bottles there, Ale Apothecary, possibly shelf De Garde.

Is it necessary to declare alcohol over the personal exemption for a car trip to Vancouver (i.e. are they likely to catch me if I don't?). I'm considering buying some beer in Seattle today, but if it slows the crossing, I'll pass.

Nope, not on the way in. I don't think I've ever been asked about alcohol on the way in. Usually weapons, and if I'm meeting anyone, how long is my stay, etc. On the way back, I've said "some beers" when they asked if I bought anything. They will usually ask about hard liquor.

And now I have like four liters of beer. Thanks, Obama.

My tasting group is totally useless. "Will you guys help me drink stuff if I bring back Holy Mountain etc?" "Not likely." What a waste.
