Alright, another "I'm going to be in Seattle area" request for recommendations.

We are driving in sometime in the evening just to crash. Not looking to go downtown unless its an easy in and out to the highway. Looking for help on a place Daddy the Driver can get a good beer that I can pick a hotel nearby, and thats within a mile or two of #5. In the morning we depart for Rainier.

edit: Pine Box then?
Any bottle shops nearby that have later hours?

edit2: holy **** these hotel prices..... ok, so maybe not Pine Box.
I guess my plan to be passing through on a Saturday in the summer may not be the best of ideas.

Slum it.

Marco Polo or Wallingford Inn.

Yeah. Just don't mind the people checking in/out all night long.
Story time.

Last time I was in Seattle, I Uber'd around. My first Uber ride of the trip, the car pulls up to the Marco Polo. I get into the car without looking at the make/model on the app. I get in the front seat and notice the smell of dank weed but think nothing of it since I believe it's legal in WA now and say "Thanks, man."

Driver: What's up, man?
Me: Not much.
Driver: Where's Mike?
Me: Huh?
Driver: You his friend or something?
Me: .....
Driver: .....
Me: Are you an Uber driver?
Driver: Uber? What is that?
Me: I think I got in the wrong car.
Driver: *laughing* I think so.

And that was how I met a drug dealer at my posh roadside motel.

I can substantiate this story since I picked Frank up for beers around town and dropped him off at his lovely home away from home. Didn't you also find what could have been coke dust remnants inside the motel couch?

It was a baggy with white residue inside, yes.

Dude gave me the suite after paying for a single though. I also got really hammered with libbey and ordered a pizza when I got back to the motel. I didn't have a pen to sign the receipt so I rang the manager's (who was sleeping) buzzer 6-7 times at 2 am. He was piiiiiiiissed.

hahaha, I think I remember this night! Didn't you also have to barricade yourself in your room after another Marco Polo Misunderstanding?

Headed to Seattle Saturday, staying until Tuesday evening. Busy Sunday only. Anyone wanna meet up for a beer?

Starting to plan my honeymoon - flying into san fran, driving up the PCH, hitting degardebrewing, ending in Seattle.

I've got The Pine Box, Noble Fir, Bottleworks, and Brouwers on my list to hit.

Am I missing anything or is there anything special going on the week of 9/29-10/1?

Holy Mountain. Do not miss.

Holy Mountain. Do not miss.
Just checked Pine Box tap list.... lots of Holy Mountain, fwiw.
Booked a spot very close to Pine Box for a Saturday night in July. Just happens to be when we are in the area on our way to Oregon.
Guessing Saturday traffic into the city from the north is like any other major city. Nightmare, right? How much time should it take me once I hit Everett?

Nah, not that bad, depending on the time. It should take about 30 minutes to get into downtown from Everett. If there's an M's game that night though you'll hit traffic and it could take an hour+.

7/9 @ Royals.

Sweet.
May do a "Marco Polo" type BIF at Pine Box.

Worth it to hit both Holy Mountain and Pine Box? I think we have most of two days and a night staying in Everett and having my cousin shuttle us around.

Southbound traffic usually crawls into the city starting at Northgate on all Saturdays, regardless of sporting event. It's a mystery. There are certainly ways to avoid if it you know the city. Get off at Northgate or one exit prior, find Roosevelt Ave, cruise into the city.

THIS is what I need. Local info. Exit at 145th then? Stay on Roosevelt until what point?

Bottle shop recommendations downtown? Or along the Roosevelt stretch from Northgate in?
