New brewer here got one batch under the belt almost ready to bottle and just put the second in the primary. Anyway so when i ordered my starter kit from Northernbrewer my package showed up with my 5 gal glass carboy shattered inside the bottling bucket. There are some pretty deed gouges. My question is if im using a liquid sanitation solution why would i have to worry about bacteria hiding in the scratches. Wouldn't the liquid solution fill those voids and kill what lurking in them. Or should i just break down and purchase a new bottling bucket. Any input is helpful...

Assuming you keep the scratched bucket, I wouldn't worry so long as you clean adequately with PBW and sanitize with Star San.

I wouldn't worry about it if it was my fault but since you ordered them new and they arrived that way I would be looking for a replacement.

Well i did call NB and the replaced the car boy. They shipped itching that same day so cant complain there however, i was filled with so much excitement that i didn't even think to check the bucket. I only use it for sanitizing and bottling and im pretty content with my sanitation process and storage of the bucket. Just wondering if it is something i should really be concerned with.
