Sorry in advance if already covered.
I have been using a 4500 w LD element in my BK and NEVER had scorching issues until last batch which was all grain with ~28% malted rye.
Has anyone had similar issues with rye malts?
I should add that I did a 20 minute glucanase rest.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Strange. No problems here with the Rye IPA's I've made. No problems with any recipes and scorching for that matter.

Did you vorlauf? No doubt rye has some "extra" protein to contribute, but if you get the wort to run pretty clear before sparging into your BK, you shouldn't have scorching issues.
