I brewed a 100 gallon batch at my friend's nanobrewery. The recipe called for some Columbus, some Amarillo, and a lot of Simcoe. Turns out the Simcoe was oxidized (!!!) so we added Columbus in its place. So it basically became a Columbus/Amarillo IPA, with a ton of Columbus.

The beer turned out pretty good but it's just too dank! The bar has a Randall and I am wondering if there is a good hop we can put in there to kind of round out the dankness of the beer. Any ideas as to what kind of hops can play well off Columbus to make it less harsh?

Thanks!

How about just using more Amarillo? Its already in the flavor profile and it's nice and bright. Or Centennial will citrus it up. Otherwise are you looking to go tropical? I think Mosaic would be good but expensive for that much beer. Wish one of my buddies had a nano.

Is there already a lot of hop aroma? You could brew another batch and blend the two. Adding more isn't necessarily the best option.

Currently drinking a columbus/citra, heavy on the late citra and it is very good. The "dankness" comes through but the tropical citra cuts it nicely

Hop flavor and aroma fade over time, so you might just try letting it sit for a few weeks and see how it is.

Hi everyone. The beer is in kegs and being served at the bar right now. So it's Randall or nothing. Amarillo or Centennial? Not sure what he has available yet. Any other ideas?

Definitely go with a fruit-forward c-hop. Centennial would be my pick of the ones you mentioned, but if you can get citra (yea, right), that can overpower just about any flavor. I personally am not a huge fan of amarillo (gasp) but I'd also like to know what else your buddy has. Good luck!
