After a 30 mile bike ride my buddy and I stopped by this brewery in Howard County, Maryland: https://sapwoodcellars.com/what-do-we-have/
One of the owners/brew masters is none other than former homebrewer and blogger:
Mad Fermentationist, https://www.themadfermentationist.com/
I sampled Chester Hops #5, very fresh hazy IPA, lots of aroma, and hop flavor. There was a solid malt background to smooth out the hops flavor. I also tasted the Danger of Light. Again, powerful hop aroma (Mosaic), malt sweetness comes through but again the hops are king. Both very delicious with a lingering hop palate, nice heads made for a beautiful beer.
The highlight however, was meeting Michael Tonsmeire the Mad Fementationist! I have followed his blog for many years, loving his brewing experiments. He heard I was inquiring about the blog and came out from the brewery to introduce himself. We then had a nice conversation about brewing, his new brewpub, etc. I will be back, in fact I told him I would organize a brew ride ending at Sapwood Cellars Brewery.
Well done Michael, et al!!!
