What are most people setting their CO2 PSI on Sanyo conversion to for serving pressure?

I got a 5 gallon commercial keg from a local brewery, and set my CO2 to 12 and it came out way to fast. Im using 6 ft of 3/16 beer line going to the tower on top, and didnt expect it to come out that fast. The faucet is 30 inches above the midway point of the conry. I dropped the pressure to about 8 and that seems pretty good. My keggerator is at approx 38 degrees, but i dont think that matters.

My plan is to keg my beer and carbonate at 12 PSI for a week or so, but now am starting to second guess that.
 
The push of your beer is the combination of its carb level and the serving PSI you have set.

I find I need to tweak mine. If it's coming out to fast, I find I need to "flatten the beer a bit because there is just too much head. Shut off your gas and relase the pressure valve to allow all the gas to escape. Let it sit for a few hours as the pressure from the liquid moves into the headspace of the keg to equilize.

This will effectivel lower the carbonation level.

I am finding like you, that 6-8 PSI is good for serving. Sometimes, I'll actually shut off the gas and let the residual carbonation pressure push the beer. then I pop open the gas now and again to push the beer.

It's a tweaking game. 38 degrees is the cold end of the carbing spectrum (same as mine) so we prolly need a lower serving PSI.
