HI.

I plan on adding a flavored syrup as my priming sugar at the time of bottling.

i've been reading a lot of threads about adding liqueurs and syrups, but haven't read anything about sanitizing the syrup like you would priming sugar. (adding a cup of water to your priming sugar and boiling for 5 min to sanitize before putting into your bottling bucket)

do i need to sanitize the syrup before adding to bottling bucket? and if so how do i go about doing so?

if this question has been asked already, please forgive me.

I'd just dissolve it like you regualarily would. Same thing as puting LME in your boil kettle.

It's already a "syrup", isn't it?
That's basically what you make, is a solution of "simple syrup" for your priming sugar that you add to your bottling bucket, I believe.

If you wish to boil to sanitize it, you could gently boil it "as is", or add an 1/8 to 1/4 cup of water to help you boil it, and reduce it back to the original "viscosity", or as close as you can.

You'll basically be experimenting with it yes, as you don't know the actual sugar content of of the flavored syrup?

HI.

The sugar content is 228 grams

I just flash pasturize mine for a minute at 170F degrees. Don't want to lose all the aromatics in a boil...

i went ahead and just boiled it like i would my priming sugars.

So 7 days later and it carbonated nicely. now to let it lager so the vanilla gets to know the rest of the beer.
