sanatizer question

I use IO star by five star as a sanatizer. My question is if I mix some up for use in a spray bottle. How long will the sanatizer stay effective? will it last a month or two. I can't find any info about this anywhere ,I checked five star web site.

IO is an iodine based sanitizer. It is similar to Iodophor. Halogen sanitizers (bleach and iodine) do not last very long once diluted into a working concentration. You might be able to get a few days out of a diluted mix.

If you are looking for a sanitizer that will remain effective once diluted, I'd look at Starsan. Its made by Five Star also. If you properly dilute it with distilled water, you can store it almost indefinitely.

The iostar instructions say that fresh sanitizer should be prepared daily.
