Im new to the world of brewing (yup) I have a couple of different sanitisers one of which is B-Brite. is it ok to keep mixed sanitisers over long periods or should you throw away any leftovers .. I made a 5 gal batch of the solution and hate to wast it if not necessary .

I dunno about B-brite, but I'll mix up 3 or 5 gallons of Star-san at a time, then break it down into 1 gallon jugs. It'll generally last for at least a month post-mix.

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think oxygen-based sanitizers like b-brite and one-step last. I use iodophor, which is so cheap I just mix up a new batch whenever I need it. I think it will last if you keep it in an airtight container. Iodine evaporates rapidly out of solution otherwise. Star-san solutions stay good as long as the ph stays under the sanitation threshold.
