Ok guys!

I finally got my raspberry pi and 7" touchscreen in the mail to start playing with automation. Fist thing fist though. I can use the monitor no problem with a mouse and keyboard while plugged in with hdmi.

How do I get the touch part working?

I'm not very good at programming or anything, so this should be a good start. Any help out there?

Typical touchscreens rely on a separate connection for the driver. Was there a USB cable (usually A-to-B) in the package?

I have one ad it does come with the interface board for the touch screen. You need to connect the interface to the pI via usb. I have not found a good way of mounting the screen however, so if you find a way I'd love to see it.

Post a pic of the screen. I manage 80+ Allen Bradley HMIs and probably have some spare clips/hardware. I'd like to see if it might fit.
