Good trip up to Moonraker in the rain on Saturday. Steady flow of people for pours and cans, but no real line. Got cans of both Hermit and Zulu.

If anyone might have a lead on extra tickets to Track 7's Invitational this Sunday 3/5 please let me know. Just booked an airbnb down there yesterday and didn't figure the tickets would sell out until maybe a day before.

Tickets were popping up left and right last year a few days before the event. You should have no problem. You should ask also, in SBG (Sacramento Beer Group) on facebook or SBE (Sacramento Beer Enthusiasts). Tickets will pop up.

Bump diggity

Got 1, still looking for 1.

Track 7 2nd Annual IPA Invitational went off well on Sunday. 650 people at the event. A few high demand beers ran out, but most got their $$ worth. They probably could use a few more bathrooms for the event of that size, possibly next year.

They even made the local TV news. http://gooddaysacramento.cbslocal.c...-7-brewery-competition/#.WLzBsUQYxO4.facebook

Moonraker Outrigger IPA took GOLD in the Comp. They can do no wrong right now.

Fieldwork Galaxy Sauce took People Choice.

Don't forget the win for Cooperage's Gin and Juice in the Specialty IPA category. That beer was simply beautiful.

Got a couple of trips coming up in April.

Will be in Sacramento and Fieldwork mid month (20thish) and then i am likely in Alburn on my way up/back from Tahoe the following week.

Will post deets. Would drink with people.

Damn moonraker, no limit on the can release friday. Won't be able to make it up there until the evening, guessing no limit means everything with haze will be long gone. HH is my favorite beer they make.

It's been awhile since I've done beer stuff in Sacramento and I'm going to be around on Sunday.

Looks like there are a ton new breweries in the area. What's worthwhile these days?

I don't know what's new since your last visit, but Claimstake is producing some great brews. I also can't recommend Flatlands enough, but Elk Grove is pretty deep.

I'm also gonna be in the area for a wedding this weekend. Will definitely be doing some beer stuff sunday. Might make the trek out to Moonraker.

The other half doesn't know it yet, but we're going to shoot to be at Moonraker around opening time and then work our way back west from there.

Planning on doing New Glory as I haven't been there since shortly after they opened and things have definitely changed since then. Maybe one of the Track 7s.

Is Fountainhead any good?

May hit the good ol Capitol Tap Room as well, because why not.

I'm on a similar timeline. Hopefully we can sort out a tip touching. Check in here w your plans, this thread could use some action.

Any of you Sac bros gonna be around Sunday?

Going to be in Auburn and Sacramento in a couple weeks and have a few questions:
1) Anything new (opened in the last year) that might not be on my radar?
2) Any recommendations for a good breakfast spot in Auburn? I'm staying near Awful Annie's which seems popular but has mixed reviews online.
3) Any recommendations on good coffee roasters (third wave, preferably) in Auburn or Sacramento?
4) Has Oak Park Brewing changed much over the last year? I see a lot of people say good things about it but I was fairly unimpressed last October (not bad, just nothing stood out). If there's reason to revisit, I will.
5) Anything between Auburn and Sacramento that should be on my list?

Here's my rough plan for each, am I missing anything significant?

Auburn (Friday 10/06):
- Arrive around noon (flying into Oakland and driving out)
- If there's a can release at Moonraker, grab cans then drop car at hotel (looks like there's no release that day though)
- Uber to Knee Deep
- Walk to Moonraker for beer and a late lunch - there's always a food truck on Fridays, correct?
- Uber to Auburn Alehouse
- Walk to Little Belgium Deli for dinner
- Wander around downtown for another drink or two. The Club Car looks like it has some decent cocktails, any opinions on it or other bars?

Sacramento (Tuesday 10/10):
- Arrive early afternoon and check into hotel
- Uber to New Glory Brewing
- Walk to Device Brewing
- Uber to Track 7 Brewing
- Uber/Walk to Pangaea
- Uber to Fieldwork
- Walk to Capital Hop Shop

For Auburn, I'd suggest eating at AAH over a food truck at Moonraker, and eating dinner at Auburn Thai Garden. Crooked Lane Brewery is on the path and at the point now where they warrant a stop.

There's always Final Gravity Auburn too:)

I haven't been to the Club Car, but I hear good things. I have however, been to the California Club in Old Auburn and it's a hell of a good dive bar. Much fun to be had!
