I found a Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout clone AG recipe, but I only am set up for partial so I have come up with the following:
Oatmeal Stout Partial Mash

Beer: Oatmeal Stout Partial Mash Style: Oatmeal Stout
Type: Partial mash Size: 5 gallons
Color: 90 HCU (~33 SRM)
Bitterness: 24 IBU
OG: 1.053 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 2 lb. American 2-row
2 lb. American 6-row
.5 lb. American crystal 120L
.5 lb. British chocolate
.25 lb. Roasted barley
1 lb. Flaked oats
Mash: 70% efficiency
Boil: minutes SG 1.076 3.5 gallons
2.5 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1.75 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 60 min.)

I swapped half the 2 row for 4 row given the flaked oats. I cut the Goldings by 30 min. to lower the IBU (back down to AG #'s). I used a .6 conversion on the light DME for the other 4# 2 row called for in the AG.

1/2 the batch likely to get french roast cold steeped, reduced and added as part of the bottling syrup as an adjunct for SWMBO.

Any thoughts, ideas, warnings are appreciated.
 
I think the recipe looks good despite using the american malts. I can't say however with the dark grains if you'll notice much of a difference to one brewed with the british equivalents as I don't have that experience, and sometimes you just brew with what you have. How close it comes to the original may depend on the yeast you use however.

My recipe used a half pound of chocolate and roasted barley and I felt that it was too much of one or the other (to be drunk young without 2 months aging). That could be my process at fault but if I were to brew it again I'd brew something like yours. The only other thing I may tweak would be to up the flaked oats but for now I think you're good to go!
 
Thanks street. I plan on using smackpac of Irish Ale Yeast. If they have eng versions of the 2 & 6 row in stock I will likely follow your lead just to be safe.
 
Bought supplies (no english 2 or 6 row available) and did a slight modification adding 1# more 2 row, .5# oat flakes, .5# Cara-Pils and cutting DME .5#.

.5 lb. British chocolate
.25 lb. Roasted barley
1.5 lb. Flaked oats
Mash: 70% efficiency
Boil: minutes SG 1.053 5.5 gallons
2 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1.75 oz. Kent Goldings (4.5% AA, 60 min.)
 
I would shoot for a higher FG but I like an O-Stout to have lots of body. The style has a lot of latitude, your call.

My Oatmeal Stout recipe uses 1.125 lb Oats just because that's how much a can of Quaker Instant Oats holds.:)
 
I was hoping the Cara-Pils and Oat Flake would give enough body, but I will keep your advice in mind and test along the way. Thanks you very much!
 
How did this recipe turn out? I am interested in brewing this Thursday! Love that beer.
 
The stout tastes great but still needs to age. I will up the FG target next time as suggested by swapping 5# 2 row (maris otter if available) for the 2 & 6 in original. It pours more like a hefty brown but darker. Flavors are all there but need to mellow/combine.

The coffee stout, not so much...but I am not a coffee fan.
