s-33 in a Pale ale?

my 3rd gen notty didnt take so im thinking of using s-33 instead. i know its generally for wheat beers but was wondering if anyone has used it otherwise with good results.

the pale recipe is:
10# maris oter
2# vienna
simcoe and centennial @ 60
cascade @ 30
cascade @ 10
 
Web resources split down two lines- one line says it's the old Edme yeast, which made fine pale ales, and the other says it's more of a Belgian yeast.

My experience tells me that the latter is probably right. I brewed a batch that was pale ale malt, carapils, and melanoidin malt, and hopped to about 40 IBU with Columbus and Glacier hops.

It tasted for all the world like a Orval knockoff, which while unexpected, wasn't bad at all.

I'd use the Safale S-04 or US-56 with that recipe as far as dry yeast goes.
