I am planning on the following lager brew for this weekend. I have some experimental hops that are best described as a high alpha noble (11.5% aa). I brought them to the local store and we all agreed that they will pair perfectly with rye malt. This is what we came up with for an easy drinking summer lager. Any thoughts?

6 lbs 2 row
3 lbs rye malt
1 lbs Vienna malt
.5 lbs 60L crystal
.5 lbs victory malt.

Mash at 150f for 60 minutes

Boil for 60 minutes
Hops:
.5 oz at 60 minutes
.4 oz at 15 minutes
.5 oz at flame out
1 oz in dry hop

Looks interesting! Have you decided which yeast to use?

Moved this from the recipe database, which is for tried-and-true recipes, to the recipes and ingredients subforum, where more folks may see it and respond.

I'm planning on using Wyeast 2035 American Lager yeast.

Regarding rice hulls. Yes, I have a half pound in the mix. I typically leave the hulls out of a recipe as they do not effect the flavor.

Victory malt will help bring out the grainy, bready flavors from the Vienna and rye malt .
