I received a Fat Tire Amber Ale kit in the mail two days ago, and made the mistake of trusting that what I ordered will be in the box. I started the boil and then noticed that the kit was missing hops. No hops was in the box at all. ROOKIE MOVE!!!

I also "smacked" the yeast pack and put it back in the fridge. Did I kill that pack?

So I have boiled the wort with no yeast or hops in the fermenter at 74 degrees just sitting on the floor. Is this batch screwed, or once the hops gets here can I boil in the hops?

is the fermenter sealed? when do you expect to get the hops?

the yeast will be fine. you might want to think about making a starter though.

if you can get hops locally I would run out and get some and then do another boil. you have to boil the hops and it will re-sanitize the wort as well. if it's going to take more than a day or two to get the hops I'd honestly just ditch it and try to get a whole new kit from wherever forgot the hops. but if you can get the hops in that day or two than it can't hurt to try!
 
I am unsure about the smack pack. What hops were missing?

I'm in Raleigh, I can mail you some hops today if you feel comfortable with that. How much do you need and give me some ideas of what you were going to use. I have two ounces of cascade that would work well in that amber if that'll do you. I have 1 ounce of Hallertau as well, if you're so inclined.

PM me your address if you'd like. You can just "dry hop" and see what happens. I would pitch that yeast too. As we're having unseasonably warm weather, I cannot send you another smack pack but I have a pack of US-05 that will do just fine with that Amber as well.

If you can get back to me fairly soon, I can drop it in the post while I'm out and you should have it Saturday at the very latest.
