I made a rookie mistake and popped off the little clip at the bottom of my auto siphon. What is the best way of fixing it? The ends don't come off at all preventing my from even getting to the clip.

I recently did something similar. I fixed it by putting the clip into the tube and shaking it around so as to line up the clips for the slots they fit into, then I got one side in and held it with my pinkie in the end of the tube. Then I stuck a long wooden rod down the siphon and pushed on the clip until the other side clicked in.

Mind you, this took many tries and much frustration. Good luck.

Balance the valve/plunger/widget on the tip of a vertical racking cane or dowel and then slide it back into place. It takes a steady hand but even a klutz like me can do it.
